We describe Indika Communications as a communications consultancy. Sounds super fancy but what does that even mean to the man on the street?

Basically, it means that anything that can be used to communicate a message to another person or group of people, is considered a communications medium.

There are the obvious ones like the news, magazines, newspapers, billboards and social media. However, let me take a moment to break this down a little further.

  • A t-shirt can transport a message (golfers, crew neck, custom designs)
  • So can a photo (professional images of staff, events, family portraits)
  • A video (product / service promo videos, event snapshots, corporate videos)
  • An event (this can be a launch, an expo, a conference, a wedding or birthday celebration)
  • Branding collateral (a gazebo, table cloth, notebook – the list is endless)
  • Gifting items (pamper hampers, party favours, staff gifts)
  • Written articles, stories, captions, business proposals/plans
  • A website (is a must for any start up business. You need to have a digital presence for credibility. Despite popular belief, this doesn’t have to cost “an arm and a leg”)

There is also the human as a carrier of a message. I’m sure you’ve gone into a shop or been at an event where there were young people trying to talk to you about a product. Sometimes doing a demo. These are promotional staff. A great way to get your brand out there!

The above list is not an exhaustive list, but you get the idea. Even within each of these, like video for example, there are infinite ways of executing it. Animation, short form, long form, filter edits, green screen, themes, voice overs. The sky is the limit.
